The Great American Bike Race
On Saturday Alan and Samuel participated in The Great American Bike Race. It's the largest stationary bike race for cerebral palsy in the country. This was Samuel's second year. Alan has participated for the last seven years. My friend Debbie Billings has a son with cerebral palsy so they have a team called the Jiffy Riders, the team Samuel rides for. This year Samuel completed a little over 8 miles. Alan rides for the celebrity team. He completed 8.8 miles. He wasn't happy about his results because his annual goal is ten miles. Perhaps Samuel will pass him up in a year or two.
Mr. cool in his shades.
This is Todd Zentz he rode for the Jiffy Riders and completed 8 miles.
The agony of defeat! Samuel giving it his all in the home stretch.

A view of the crowd. It gets bigger every year. This year there were teams that were turned away because of the lack of space. They're thinking about holding it the civic center next year so there will be room for more teams.
This Medibear he is the Medcenter One mascot. Medcenter One are sponsors of The Great American Bike Race.
This the mayor of Bismarck John Warford who also rides on the celebrity team.

Even federal Judge Charles Miller was there. He was the judge who presided at my citizenship ceremony.
It's always a fun time and I'm proud of my boys!
