This year Sam entered the seventh grade. So far he is enjoying it and keeping up with the work load. At home it's been a challenge keeping him on task but hopefully it will get better.

He's biggest complaint is that a lot of his classmates already have girlfriends and are constantly talking about it. He doesn't get it and his friends don't get why he doesn't want one. I'm grateful he's not interested. I'm hoping I can keep it that way until he's twenty one. Not likely but, I can still hope right?
This year he decided to give tennis a try. It's been a wonderful experience. He hasn't played since about third grade so he has had to relearned his skills. He has much improved since he's started and now looks like he knows what he's doing. He can actually place the ball most of the time. It's been fun to watch him play. He has enjoyed it so much and wants to s
tick with it. I think he'll be a good player in High School. I like that it only last six weeks in the fall. I'm not sure if they play in the spring or not, but even if they do it's nice to have a break. I worry about it taking too much time away from school.

The big surprise was that he auditioned for Swing Choir. He found out that he likes to sing. He never sings at church so that's why it was a surprise to us. Anyway, he got chosen to be in at least one of the singing groups called The Simle Singers. We haven't heard about Swing Choir ye
t. He also auditioned for jazz band but, didn't get in. It's probably a good thing. He doesn't need to be involved in so many things.

The only thing that comes close is that he used up his lunch money that was suppose to last him a month in two weeks and then charged a few lunches. Actually we didn't think it was very funny. We made him pay for what he charged. We also told him he has to take cold lunch now. He decided to pay for his own lunch. This kid has a mind of his own and never fails to keep us humble. He is a good boy with good standards and that is the trade off. Sammy- Sammy- Sammy!! BTW- I forgot to mention that his least favorite class is keyboarding. He's convince that it's faster to type with two fingers. Ahh..... never a dull moment with Sam!
