Prom Night for Ammon

This is my handsome son ready for prom. It's one of two that he will be attending. He was invited by his friend Lindsey. She attends Mandan High School. I have to admit I was concerned about the colors he chose for his vest and tie. I told him it looked like rainbow sherbet. I thought it was a little loud! After he got dressed and ready to go it grew on me. I thought he looked pretty sharp. Then his date walked in and together they looked fabulous! She was adorable in cute yellow dress! Here she is pinning the boutonniere or pretending to for the snapshot. You know most kids don't know how to do it so the moms do it.

Here is my sweet son putting on the corsage that his mother bought because he didn't think to buy one. I had to go to my friends at Dutchmill florist to have them make one for me at the very last minute. He thought his date was going to take care of the flowers. Gotta love him huh?

They were the cutest couple there of course! What a nice girl and what a cutie!

I took this picture of her shoes for Leah and Jessica who appreciate a cute pair of shoes. They reminded me of something Leah would wear.

Here they are with all their friends waiting to have dinner. I made Alan take this picture even though he really didn't want to.The rest are pictures taken at grand march. It's always fun to see how everybody else dressed up and the colors they wear. I took the pictures this year because Alan didn't do a very good job last year and the only reason I had good pictures was because the other parents shared theirs. Alan was ever so happy to hear he didn't have to take the pictures. I just didn't want to be mad at him again. It kept the night peaceful.

Only in North Dakota could you have prom in March and still have snow!

Of course this is me with my boy. If I look a little tired it's because I had a very early start this morning and have been running all day. Once again I have to say how much easier it is to deal with a son going to prom than a daughter. Not that I didn't enjoy my girls but I'm glad not to be spending all day getting them ready. I love this part of being a mom. Being able to experience these fun times in a teenagers life. Especially when they are good kids and you have that comfort of knowing that they're not going to get into trouble. The only thing I don't like is waiting up all night for them to get home. I won't be able to sleep until I know he's home safely. It's a mom thing!
